The 11th edition of the BPL began yesterday amidst protests, chaos, and vandalism, with the main cause being the ticketing issues.
Many fans complained that they couldn’t get tickets despite standing in long lines at the banks and booths for hours. Even those who purchased tickets online faced difficulties when entering Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla Stadium yesterday.
To alleviate some of the frustration for cricket lovers, the BCB has set up an additional booth for ticket sales today. In a press release on Monday night, the board announced that a new booth has been established next to the City Club Ground in Mirpur 12 to help fans purchase tickets for today’s matches. The booth will open at 8 a.m.
In addition, tickets will also be available at the booth near the National Swimming Complex, adjacent to the Sher-e-Bangla Indoor Stadium. However, since banks will be closed today, tickets will not be available at the designated branches of Madhumati Bank.
Today, on the last day of the year, BPL will feature matches between Khulna Tigers and Chittagong Kings, as well as Rangpur Riders and Sylhet Strikers. In response to traffic regulations by Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), the BCB has adjusted the match timings. Both matches will start 90 minutes earlier than originally planned. The Khulna-Chittagong match will begin at 12 p.m., and the Rangpur-Sylhet match will start at 5 p.m.
