Khulna Tigers’ Caribbean pacer Oshane Thomas managed to take a wicket in this eventful and curiosity-arousing over of the BPL.

The drama began with the first ball of the innings. Thomas dismissed Naeem Islam, and celebrations erupted among him and his teammates. But their joy was short-lived. The on-field umpire signaled a ‘no ball’ after consulting with the TV umpire, forcing a disappointed Thomas to trudge back to his mark. Unfortunately, that was just the beginning of his struggles. A flurry of wides and no balls followed in quick succession.

After the first delivery was declared a ‘no ball,’ Naeem failed to score on the free hit. The next ball, however, was dispatched for a six by Naeem. But once again, the umpire signaled it as a ‘no ball.’ What followed was two consecutive wides by Thomas.

He managed to bowl a legal delivery next, but the respite was short-lived. His next ball, though not wide, was declared a ‘no ball’ yet again, and Naeem smashed it for four.

By then, the scoreboard displayed a bizarre sight: only one ball bowled, but 15 runs on the board!

Thomas regained his rhythm temporarily, delivering two consecutive legal balls. But the drama reignited when he bowled yet another ‘no ball.’

On the free hit, Naeem Islam attempted a big shot and was caught by Mohammad Naim Sheikh. However, per the rules, Naeem wasn’t out and instead collected two runs. The very next delivery, though, saw Naeem give another catch, and this time, he was out for good.

The final ball of the over saw new batter Usman Khan fail to score.

In total, the over lasted 12 balls, featuring three wides, three no balls, six legal deliveries, and conceding 18 runs along with one wicket.

It’s safe to say that such a bizarre and chaotic over has never been witnessed in all the seasons of the BPL.
