Litton’s 125, Tanzid’s 108, and the entire Rajshahi team couldn’t even match their individual scores combined. After six straight losses, Dhaka Capitals finally tasted victory.
The ongoing BPL has seen a flurry of runs on batting-friendly pitches with shorter boundaries. But what Litton Kumar Das and Tanzid Hasan showcased this time can only be called a flood of runs. At Sylhet International Stadium, white balls zipped across the lush outfield to the boundary or soared into the stands in flashes of light. Centuries, runs, and records—it was an absolute spectacle. Amid this dominance, the indomitable Rajshahi was completely flattened.
After losing six matches in a row, Dhaka Capitals secured their long-awaited first win in the BPL. And what a commanding win it was—obliterating Rajshahi by 149 runs.
This victory marks the largest margin by runs in BPL history. There were so many records broken that keeping track was a challenge!
Litton Kumar Das Shines Bright
Dropped from Bangladesh’s Champions Trophy squad, Litton silenced the critics with his destructive best. Playing all 20 overs, he scored his maiden T20 century with 125* off 55 balls, including 10 fours and 9 sixes.
Tanzid Hasan came agonizingly close to staying till the end, but fell three balls short of completing 20 overs. By then, he had smashed 108 off 64 balls.
Facing a lackluster Rajshahi bowling attack, Dhaka Capitals posted 254/1 in 20 overs—the highest team total in BPL history.
Record-Breaking Partnership
Litton and Tanzid forged a record-breaking opening stand of 241 runs—the highest in BPL for any partnership, surpassing the previous record of 205 runs set over a decade ago.
Neither Litton nor Tanzid’s individual scores were matched by the entire Rajshahi team combined.
Rajshahi Crumble Under the Run Avalanche
Winning the toss, Dhaka chose to bat but started cautiously, scoring just 22 runs in the first four overs. Taskin Ahmed bowled economically, conceding only 8 runs in his first two overs, while Litton was dropped on 5 by Akbar Ali behind the stumps.
Once Taskin was taken out of the attack, Litton and Tanzid unleashed their carnage, scoring 37 runs in the next two overs. The team’s 100 came up in the 9th over, as Litton and Tanzid punished Rajshahi’s loose bowling and fielding.
Litton reached his century in just 44 balls—the fastest BPL century by a Bangladeshi batsman. Tanzid brought up his century in the final over before falling for 108. Sabbir Rahman joined the party with a massive six on his very first ball, while Litton ended the innings with another six. For the first time in BPL history, a team crossed the 250-run mark.
Rajshahi’s Dismal Chase
With such a daunting total, the match was practically decided in the first innings. Rajshahi never looked like they could mount a challenge, losing wickets at regular intervals. None of their top six batters crossed 20 runs.
Ryan Burl fought valiantly, scoring 47 off 34 balls with 9 boundaries, but his effort was far from enough. Rajshahi were bowled out for just 105 in 15.2 overs, handing Dhaka Capitals a historic 149-run win.

Durbar Rajshahi: 105 all out in 15.2 overs (Burl 47, Yasir 17).
