Tamim Iqbal once again showcased his brilliance, scoring an unbeaten century to lead Mohammedan Sporting Club to victory for the second consecutive match.
Taijul Islam and Abu Hider set the tone early, restricting Brothers Union to a modest total with their superb bowling. Despite an early setback in the chase, Mohammedan found stability in Tamim’s partnership with Mahidul Islam, ensuring a comfortable win.
Tamim has been the standout performer in the ongoing Dhaka Premier League, delivering back-to-back centuries and further extending his record for the most List ‘A’ centuries by a Bangladeshi batsman.
Meanwhile, in another match, Naim Sheikh came close to another century but fell short at 80. The left-handed opener, who played a blistering 176-run knock in the previous round, couldn’t replicate his heroics this time. With little support from his teammates, Prime Bank Cricket Club suffered a defeat.
Tamim’s Ton Secures Mohammedan’s Third Consecutive Win
At BKSP’s No. 3 ground, Mohammedan registered a commanding nine-wicket victory, chasing down 187 with ease. After losing their first match against newcomers Gulshan Cricket Club, the star-studded team has now won three in a row.
Taijul and Abu Hider’s exceptional bowling effort helped restrict Brothers to 187. Mohammedan then chased the target with 103 balls to spare.
Winning the toss and batting first, Brothers lost both openers early and failed to build any significant partnerships. Veteran Imtiaz Hossain top-scored with 43, while Aich Mollah contributed 32.
Taijul was the standout bowler, taking 4 wickets for just 31 runs in 10 overs. With 10 wickets in four matches, he now leads the tournament’s bowling charts. Abu Hider also chipped in with three wickets for 24 runs.
In the chase, Mohammedan suffered an early blow as Mehidy Hasan Miraz departed in the very first over, caught brilliantly by Vishal Chowdhury. However, that was the only moment of joy for Brothers as Tamim and Mahidul took control.
The duo stitched together a match-winning 187-run partnership in 192 balls. Tamim reached his 24th List ‘A’ century, scoring an unbeaten 105 off 96 balls with 9 fours and 4 sixes. Mahidul remained not out on 75, his second fifty of the tournament, hitting 6 fours and 3 sixes.
Match Summary:
Brothers Union: 187 in 48.4 overs (Imtiaz 43, Aich 32; Taijul 4/31, Abu Hider 3/24)
Mohammedan Sporting Club: 191/1 in 32.5 overs (Tamim 105*, Mahidul 75*; Al Amin 1/23)
Result: Mohammedan won by 9 wickets

Saif’s Spin & Tanzid-Soumya’s Fifties Take Rupganj to the Top
Legends of Rupganj once again dominated with both ball and bat, securing an eight-wicket win over Prime Bank Cricket Club to climb to the top of the standings.
At BKSP’s No. 4 ground, Rupganj made light work of a modest 153-run target, reaching it with 160 balls to spare. With three wins in four matches, they now lead the points table, ahead of Abahani Limited and Mohammedan on net run rate.
Prime Bank, who had posted a record-breaking 422 in their previous match, barely managed to cross 150 this time. Naim Sheikh was once again the lone warrior, scoring 81 off 83 balls, including 4 fours and 5 sixes. But the lack of support from others proved costly.
Off-spinner Saif Hasan was the pick of the bowlers, grabbing 4 wickets for 37 runs. Tanzim Hasan also played a crucial role with three wickets.
While Saif excelled with the ball, he couldn’t contribute much with the bat, scoring just 16. However, Tanzid Hasan (68) and Soumya Sarkar (50*) ensured an easy chase. Tanzid smashed 7 fours and 5 sixes in his 49-ball knock, while Soumya remained unbeaten with 5 fours and 2 sixes.
Match Summary:
Prime Bank Cricket Club: 152 in 29.5 overs (Naim 81; Saif 4/37, Tanzim 3/30)
Legends of Rupganj: 154/2 in 23.2 overs (Tanzid 68, Soumya 50*; Nahidul 1/37)
Result: Legends of Rupganj won by 8 wickets
