The match will still take place at Eden Gardens, but the date has changed.
The IPL schedule has been modified, with the match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants being pushed back by two days.
Originally scheduled for April 6 at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens, the match will now take place on April 8.
April 6 marks the Ram Navami festival, and due to a shortage of police personnel across the city for security reasons, both the Kolkata Police and the Cricket Association of Bengal requested the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to reschedule the match.
The IPL authorities announced the two-day delay in a statement late on Friday.
On April 6, only one match will take place, with Sunrisers Hyderabad facing Gujarat Titans at 8 PM Bangladesh time. On April 8, two matches will be held. Kolkata vs Lucknow will kick off at 4 PM, followed by Punjab Kings vs Chennai Super Kings at 8 PM.
