Sri Lanka Cricket has announced the schedule for Bangladesh’s nearly five-week-long tour, which includes Tests, ODIs, and T20Is.
While preparations are underway for upcoming tours to the UAE and Pakistan, the dates for another important assignment have now been confirmed. Next month, Bangladesh will travel to Sri Lanka for a packed, multi-format series.
After a long break, Bangladesh will play across all three formats in Sri Lanka — two Tests, three ODIs, and three T20Is — spread across five venues in four cities.
In an official statement, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) revealed the complete itinerary of Bangladesh’s full-fledged tour — their first such visit to the island nation since 2017.
“Just like the tour eight years ago, the series will begin with Tests, followed by three ODIs and three T20Is.”
Bangladesh’s T20I series in Pakistan will end on June 3. After a short break and Eid holidays, players like Litton Das and Najmul Hossain Shanto will head to Sri Lanka on June 13.
The first Test will begin on June 17 at the Galle International Cricket Stadium, while the second will start on June 25 at the Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC) Ground in Colombo.
The ODI series begins in Colombo’s Premadasa Stadium, with matches on July 2 and 5. The third ODI will be held on July 8 in Pallekele. All three ODIs will be day-night matches.
The T20I series kicks off in Pallekele on July 10. The second game will be played at the Dambulla International Stadium on July 13. The final match of the tour will take place on July 16 at Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
Bangladesh also toured Sri Lanka for bilateral series in 2019 and 2021, but those were limited — three ODIs in 2019 and two Tests in 2021. In addition, they visited Sri Lanka for the 2023 Asia Cup.
