The tournament final will be held in either Bengaluru or Colombo.

The ICC has finalized the venues for the upcoming Women’s One Day International World Cup. Along with four venues in the host country India, matches will also be played at one venue in Sri Lanka. Pakistan will play their matches at that Sri Lankan ground.

The global cricket governing body announced the tournament start dates, knockout schedule, and venues on Monday through a press release.

Matches will take place at Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, ACA Stadium in Guwahati, Holkar Stadium in Indore, ACA-VDCA Stadium in Vishakhapatnam, and R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

The knockout venues will depend on Pakistan’s qualification at that stage. One semi-final and the final will therefore have alternate venues.

On October 29, the first semi-final will be played in Guwahati or Colombo. The second semi-final is scheduled for October 30 in Bengaluru. The final will take place on November 2 in either Bengaluru or Colombo. If Pakistan qualifies for the semi-final and final, those matches will be held in Colombo.

In the last men’s Champions Trophy hosted by Pakistan, India’s matches were held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

After much tension regarding India’s participation in the Champions Trophy, the two neighboring countries reached an understanding at the ICC that for the 2024-2027 cycle, all matches hosted in Pakistan will see India playing at neutral venues, and vice versa — Pakistan’s matches in India will also be held at neutral venues.

Due to political hostility, bilateral series between India and Pakistan have been suspended for many years. Recently, border clashes between the two countries have further escalated tensions.

The World Cup will begin on September 30 in Bengaluru with the host India’s first match. The tournament will feature eight teams playing a total of 28 matches in a round-robin format. The top four teams on the points table will advance to the semi-finals.

Alongside hosts India, the top six teams from the 2022-25 ICC Women’s Championship have qualified directly for the World Cup. These include Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa, and Sri Lanka. Bangladesh and Pakistan secured their places through qualifiers.

The full tournament schedule will be announced later.
