Later this month, Bangladesh’s U-19 team will kick off their Youth Asia Cup campaign with a match against Afghanistan. The ACC released the tournament schedule today, and the 50-over competition is set to begin on November 29 with the Bangladesh-Afghanistan clash.
Eight teams are divided into two groups for the Youth Asia Cup. Group ‘A’ includes India, Pakistan, the UAE, and Japan, while Group ‘B’ comprises Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Nepal, and Sri Lanka.
After facing Afghanistan, Bangladesh’s second match will be against Nepal on December 1, followed by their final group stage game against Sri Lanka on December 3. All of Bangladesh’s group matches will be held in Dubai. The two semifinals are scheduled for December 6 in Sharjah and Dubai, with the final taking place in Dubai on December 8.
This will be the 11th edition of the U-19 Asia Cup and the third consecutive time it’s hosted in the UAE. Bangladesh’s youth team won the previous tournament in 2023, defeating the UAE in the final. India holds the record for most titles, winning eight times, including once as co-champions with Pakistan. Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan have each won the title once.
