Before starting every men’s bilateral series BCB announced the title sponsor, but they couldn’t manage it for women’s series previously. But before the series against Ireland BCB got Senora as title sponsor for the very first time and powered by Ruchi, they confirmed on a program which was held at Mirpur on Wednesday.
An official of BCB said on another news outlet that it’s a big step for women’s cricket and previously they tried to make a deal with some big companies for women’s cricket, but they didn’t make any response. At that time one of the biggest conglomerates of country Square wants to sponsor women’s cricket.
BCB director Najmul Abedin Fahim thanked Senora for sponsoring this series. He said, ‘We didn’t get more sponsorship for women’s cricket previously, now they sponsored that series, I think women’s cricketers deserve that.’ In other words, he explained why they deserve that, he said, ‘Recently women’s cricket has done well on the international stage at home and abroad, also they create the possibility to do better on the international stage.’
Bangladesh women’s team will face Ireland in an equal 3-match series ODI and T20I which will be held in Dhaka and Sylhet starting from 27 November to 9 December. The visitors are scheduled to arrive in Dhaka on Thursday.
