The franchise-based T20 tournament will kick off on December 30, with the final slated for February 7.
This year’s BPL will begin just two days before the New Year, marking the tournament’s 11th season, which will span 40 days across three different cities.
The BPL’s new schedule was announced by the BCB on Tuesday.
BCB President and BPL Governing Council Chairman Faruk Ahmed initially suggested a December 27 start date. However, he later hinted at a three-day delay, which has now been finalized.
In the opening match on December 30 at the Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, defending champions Fortune Barishal will face the newcomers, Durbar Rajshahi.
The tournament, featuring 46 matches, will conclude on February 7, with the final held at the same “Home of Cricket” venue. Every two days, there will be a rest day.
As in recent years, matches will be played across three venues: Mirpur, Chattogram’s Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, and Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.
Each day will host two matches: the first match at 1:30 p.m. and the second at 6:30 p.m. On Fridays, however, the first match will begin at 2:00 p.m., with the second match at 7:00 p.m.
The first eight matches will take place in Dhaka. The BPL will then move to Sylhet for 12 matches, where Sylhet Strikers will face Rangpur Riders in the opening game on January 6.
The Chattogram leg will start on January 16, featuring 12 more matches, beginning with Fortune Barishal vs. Dhaka Capitals.
After 24 matches in Sylhet and Chattogram, the BPL will return to Dhaka. Following the final eight first-round matches, the playoffs will start on February 3.
The playoff round will kick off with the Eliminator and the first Qualifier, followed by the second Qualifier a day later. On February 7, the two remaining teams will clash for the championship.
Each of the four playoff matches will have a reserve day.
