Under the supervision of the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB) Game Development program, the Under-17 National Cricket Team will tour Sri Lanka. The team’s tour tickets have been sponsored by Prime Bank. On Wednesday, December 20, a press conference was held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium to announce this partnership.
Representing the BCB at the event were CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury and Game Development Committee Chairman Khaled Mahmud Sujon. From Prime Bank, Deputy Managing Director Mr. Mozammel Hossain Chowdhury and Senior Vice President and Head of Brand and Communications Mr. Ziaur Rahman were present.
During the event, Nizamuddin Chowdhury said: “Prime Bank has consistently supported Bangladesh cricket. From grassroots to the national level, their sponsorship has significantly contributed to the development of players who later represent the senior national team. Their involvement, particularly in youth cricket development, showcases their dedication to nurturing talent. The Prime Bank School Cricket Scholarship is another example of their commitment to the game. Many scholarship recipients have become notable cricketers. This is the first time Prime Bank is sponsoring the Under-17 national team, and we hope their support will continue in the future.”
Speaking on behalf of Prime Bank, Mr. Mozammel Hossain Chowdhury added, “It’s a privilege to be associated with cricket, which is close to the heart of our nation. Our involvement with BCB’s youth and development programs underscores our long-term commitment to creating professional cricketers. Supporting these young talents at the grassroots level is our way of contributing to the future success of Bangladesh cricket.”
The Under-17 team will play two three-day matches and three one-day matches against the Sri Lanka Under-17 team. The first one-day match is scheduled for December 24, followed by the second and third matches on December 26 and 28. The two three-day matches will begin on December 2 and December 7.
