Ranji Trophy 1951–52

The 1951–52 Ranji Trophy marked the 18th season of India's premier first-class cricket competition. A total of 21 teams competed in the knockout format to determine the national champions. Bombay ultimately claimed the title, securing its 6th victory in the history of the tournament.

Bombay dominated the final against Holkar with a decisive 531-run victory. After winning the toss and choosing to bat, the team set a massive target that their opponents could not overcome. This win stands as the second-largest margin of victory by runs in the history of the competition.

Individual performances shaped the season as well. Dattu Phadkar of Bombay led the bowling charts by taking 32 wickets throughout the campaign. Meanwhile, Hemu Adhikari of Services finished as the top run-scorer, accumulating 554 runs across his matches.

A strange moment occurred during the tournament when Mysore faced Bombay. Despite conceding a lead of only 35 runs in the first innings, Mysore collapsed in their second outing. They were bowled out for 28, which remains the lowest total ever recorded by the team in first-class cricket.
