The 2010–11 Ranji Trophy marked the 77th season of the premier first-class cricket competition in India. A total of 27 teams participated in the tournament, competing through a structured format that split the sides into Super and Plate leagues. Each of these divisions featured two groups where teams faced opponents once, either at home or away.
The competition structure relied on a round-robin stage followed by a knockout phase. The top three teams from each Super League group earned spots in the quarter-finals. They were joined by the two winners of the Plate League semi-finals, completing the knockout bracket.
Rajasthan secured their first title in the history of the tournament, emerging as champions after a hard-fought season. Their victory marked a significant point in the domestic calendar, as they managed to outlast the competition to claim the trophy.
Individual performances stood out throughout the season. Subramaniam Badrinath of Tamil Nadu finished as the highest run-scorer with 922 runs to his name. On the bowling front, Bhargav Bhatt from Baroda led the charts by claiming 47 wickets.
