The 1911–12 Sheffield Shield marked the 20th season of Australia's premier first-class cricket competition. Three teams competed in the tournament, which followed a double round-robin format over the course of six matches. New South Wales claimed the championship title, marking their 12th victory in the history of the competition.
Individual performances shaped the season as players vied for statistical dominance. Warwick Armstrong of Victoria led all batters, finishing the tournament with a total of 450 runs. Meanwhile, Tibby Cotter proved to be the most effective bowler, taking 28 wickets for New South Wales throughout the six matches played.
