The 1925–26 Sheffield Shield marked the 34th season of the Australian first-class cricket competition. Only three teams competed in the tournament, facing each other in a double round-robin format that produced six matches in total.
New South Wales secured their 17th title in dominant fashion. Their batting lineup was unstoppable throughout the season, posting massive innings totals of 554, 705, 642, 593, and 708. This relentless performance resulted in crushing victories in all four of their matches, with three wins coming by an innings and one by a margin exceeding 500 runs.
Despite the dominance of New South Wales, individuals from the other states still made significant contributions. Victoria batsman Bill Woodfull topped the run-scoring charts for the season, finishing with 597 runs. Meanwhile, South Australia bowler John Scott led the competition in wickets, claiming 22 scalps over the course of the six matches.
