Sheffield Shield 1933–34

The 1933–34 Sheffield Shield served as the 42nd edition of the premier Australian first-class cricket competition. Four teams competed in the tournament, engaging in a double round-robin format to decide the title. Victoria secured the championship, marking the 14th time the state claimed the trophy in the competition's history.

Across the 12 matches played during the season, the standard of play remained high. Don Bradman, representing New South Wales, dominated the batting charts by accumulating 922 runs throughout his appearances. His performance highlighted the individual quality on display during the domestic summer.

The bowling honors were shared equally at the top of the standings. Victoria's Chuck Fleetwood-Smith and South Australia's Clarrie Grimmett both finished the tournament with 39 wickets each. This tie between two prominent bowlers defined the defensive side of the 1933–34 season.
