Carl McArthur Tuckett grew up in Charlestown, Saint Kitts and Nevis, and eventually made his way to the national West Indies side. Born on 18 May 1970, he developed as a right-handed batter and a right-arm fast-medium bowler. He played domestic cricket for the Leeward Islands between 1994 and 2004, gaining enough experience to earn a single ODI cap against England in April 1998.
That match at the Queen's Park Oval in Trinidad proved productive for the debutant. Tuckett bowled 48 balls and claimed 2 wickets for 41 runs. His dismissals of Alec Stewart and Graeme Hick remain the standout moments of his international playing career. He finished with a bowling average of 20.50 in that format before eventually moving into officiating.
Off the field, Tuckett built a new career as an umpire. He stood in tour matches involving a Saint Kitts Invitational XI and an England XI in April 2015. His first-class debut followed later that year in the 2015-16 Regional Four Day Competition during a match between the Leeward Islands and Trinidad and Tobago. By October 2016, he held a spot among the eight umpires selected for the ICC World Cricket League Division Four.
His international officiating resume includes 1 ODI match and 6 T20I matches. He has also expanded his work into the women's game, having umpired 1 WODI in 2022 and 6 WT20I matches between 2017 and 2022.
