Claire Antonia Polosak was born on 7 April 1988 in Goulburn, New South Wales. She works as a school teacher when not officiating on the cricket field. Her career includes extensive experience in the women's game, with 51 WODI matches umpired between 2016 and 2026 and 69 WT20I matches between 2015 and 2026.
Polosak broke ground in the men's game as well. She became the first woman to stand as an on-field umpire in a men's domestic fixture in Australia in October 2017. Later, in 2019, she became the first woman to stand in a men's ODI match. She also served as the fourth umpire in a men's Test match in January 2021.
Her international officiating record spans 3 Test matches, 51 ODIs, and 69 T20Is. She has participated in various ICC tournaments, including the 2018 ICC Women's World Twenty20 and the 2022 Women's Cricket World Cup. In November 2023, she and Eloise Sheridan became the first women to umpire a Sheffield Shield match together at the WACA Ground.
