Gregory O'Brian Brathwaite was born in St. Philip, Barbados on 9 December 1969. He works as a cricket umpire and represents the West Indies as a member of the International Cricket Council International Panel of Umpires and Referees.
His international career spans multiple formats and tournaments. He made his One Day International debut on 7 August 2011 in a match between Canada and Afghanistan, and he first stood in a Twenty20 International between the West Indies and Australia on 27 March 2012.
Across his career, Brathwaite has stood in 8 Test matches between 2021 and 2022, alongside 59 One Day Internationals from 2011 to 2024, and 63 Twenty20 Internationals spanning from 2012 to 2025.
He also officiates in women's international cricket. His record includes 26 Women's One Day Internationals from 2012 to 2025 and 13 Women's Twenty20 Internationals between 2012 and 2020.
