Kerrin Klaaste, born on 3 March 1998 in Kimberley, South Africa, is an umpire currently serving on the ICC Development Panel. Before moving into officiating, she played domestic cricket for Griqualand West, which is now known as Northern Cape. Across 15 domestic matches as a player, she scored 115 runs at an average of 8.84 and took 3 wickets. Her transition to the middle has been marked by several pioneering moments for women in the sport.
Klaaste made history as the first female umpire to win the South Western Districts Cricket Umpires’ Association Umpire of the Season award. Cricket South Africa promoted her to its Reserve Umpire Panel in June 2023. Her officiating experience includes 1 Test match, 12 ODIs, and 34 T20I matches. These figures include both women's and men's fixtures, such as her role in the 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup Africa Sub-regional Qualifier A.
