Brian Lara Stadium sits in Tarouba, near San Fernando in Trinidad and Tobago. Construction on the venue began in 2008 and finished in 2017. The 15000 capacity facility serves as a home ground for West Indies, the Trinidad and Tobago national cricket team, and the Trinbago Knight Riders franchise.
Regional Twenty20 franchise fixtures got underway here during the 2017 Caribbean Premier League. Franchise teams including the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, Guyana Amazon Warriors, and Jamaica Tallawahs have travelled to this southern Trinidad ground for high stakes tournament matches.
During the 2017 Caribbean Premier League finals, Trinbago Knight Riders claimed a narrow three wicket victory over St Kitts and Nevis Patriots. Later in the same tournament phase, Guyana Amazon Warriors chased down a target to beat Jamaica Tallawahs by five wickets.
International schedules expanded to this venue when the West Indies women played Sri Lanka in October 2017. Men's international fixtures arrived subsequently, featuring matches against India, South Africa, and Pakistan across both one day and Twenty20 formats through August 2025.
The ground holds 15000 spectators.
