Iqbal Stadium holds seventeen thousand spectators in Faisalabad and operates as the home ground for the Faisalabad Wolves. The facility opened in nineteen seventy-eight and underwent renovations by September seventh, twenty twenty-five. International cricket took root here quickly, featuring a men's Test match between Pakistan and India in October nineteen seventy-eight.

Test cricket at the venue ran until January twenty-one, twenty-six, when Pakistan and India played a drawn match. The ground also hosted the Wills World Cup and triangular series. Visiting international teams through the decades included South Africa, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, Bangladesh, and England alongside Zimbabwe.

Pakistan played Bangladesh here in twenty-eight, winning by seven wickets under the Duckworth Lewis method. Another twenty-eight fixture saw Bangladesh face South Africa. Tight finishes marked the preceding years, featuring a two-wicket win for Pakistan against the West Indies in twenty-six and a drawn Test against England in twenty-five.

Men's one-day internationals began at the ground on November twenty-three, nineteen eighty-four, against New Zealand. The one-day format returned years later, with Pakistan playing South Africa on November eighth, twenty twenty-five. Matches between Pakistan and India also took place here, including a drawn Test in twenty-six.
