Senwes Park sits in Potchefstroom, holding up to eighteen thousand spectators for major cricket fixtures. Cricket matches have taken place at this venue across two decades, starting from the early years of the century through to recent international tournaments.

International competition arrived quickly at the ground. The first men's one-day international took place in October 2000 between South Africa and New Zealand, setting the stage for regular limited-overs fixtures to follow over the next several years.

Test cricket came to the city in October 2002 when South Africa hosted Bangladesh. Fifteen years later, the teams returned for a second Test match at the venue, which remains the final five-day game played on this turf.

The ground expanded its international hosting duties to the shortest format. South Africa played Bangladesh in the first men's twenty-twenty international here in October 2017, marking a milestone as the one-hundredth match in that format for the home side.

Women's international cricket features prominently in the venue's schedule. The first women's one-day international was played in March 2002 against India, while the most recent women's fixtures against Sri Lanka took place in the early months of twenty-twenty-four.
