WACA Ground

Cricket has been played at the WACA Ground in Perth from 1969 to 2026. The venue first opened in 1890 and holds a capacity of 10,000 people. Western Australia, Australia, New Zealand, West Indies, India, and Sri Lanka have played matches here most often. Teams such as the Western Warriors and Perth Scorchers also use the ground for domestic competitions.

International cricket established a long tenure at the venue across multiple formats. The first men's Test took place from 11 to 16 December 1970 between Australia and England, while the last men's Test at the ground occurred from 14 to 18 December 2017 against the same opponent. The first men's ODI was played on 9 December 1980 between India and New Zealand.

Shorter men's formats also featured at the ground during past decades. The first men's T20I happened on 11 December 2007 between Australia and New Zealand. The last men's T20I at the stadium took place on 31 October 2010 when Australia played Sri Lanka, and the final men's ODI was hosted on 19 January 2017 against Pakistan.

Women's international fixtures have a distinct history here. The first women's Test was held from 21 to 24 March 1958 between Australia and England. A more recent women's Test took place from 6 to 10 March 2026 featuring Australia and India. The ground also staged the first women's ODI on 12 March 2005 between Australia and New Zealand.

Limited-overs women's internationals continued later into the schedule. The last women's ODI was played on 22 February 2019 between Australia and New Zealand. The venue then hosted T20I matches in February 2020, starting with Thailand against the West Indies on 22 February and concluding with India versus Bangladesh on 24 February.

Domestic competitions staged at the ground include the Sheffield Shield, Benson and Hedges World Series, Big Bash League, VB Series, Australia Tri-Nation Series, and the Women's T20 World Cup. Recent domestic results include Victoria defeating Western Australia by 353 runs in 2026, and Tasmania winning by 22 runs against the same team later that year.
