Rohit Sharma could not understand how to celebrate after winning the first World Cup as a captain. That is what Rohit said in the press conference after winning the title. The Indian captain also announced his retirement from T20 Internationals at that press conference in Barbados.

At the end of the press conference, Rohit said something else when he faced the Indian journalists. He did not want to say goodbye to international T20 just now. But the situation was such that it seemed to him the right time to retire. After the final, Virat Kohli announced from the international T20 by taking the man of the match award at the award ceremony on the field. After that, Rohit’s announcement went to the press conference.

India won the second T20 World Cup in their history by defeating South Africa by 7 runs last night Bangladesh time in the final at the Kensington Oval in Barbados. After announcing his retirement from international T20 at the press conference, Rohit said, ‘It was my last match too. There is no better time to say goodbye. I wanted to get it (T20 World Cup trophy) very much. Its feelings are difficult to express in words.

Before the final in this World Cup, Kohli could not do anything with the bat. But Rohit became the second highest run scorer of the tournament with 257 runs in 8 innings. Indian journalists asked Rohit after the press conference why he retired when he was in such a rhythm. In response to this question, 37-year-old Rohit said, ‘I did not plan to retire from T20 Internationals. But the situation was…I thought this was the right situation for me. There can be no better situation than to say goodbye after winning the World Cup. That is why I have taken such a decision.
