Khulna Tigers secure 6-wicket win over Sylhet Strikers, ending the Chattogram phase of the BPL.
Riding on an all-round performance by Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Khulna not only claimed victory but also moved to the fourth spot on the points table, leaving Sylhet Strikers at the bottom with only two wins from nine matches.
Miraz, the Khulna captain, was the star of the match, scoring a stellar 70 off 47 balls with 8 fours and 2 sixes and claiming a wicket with the ball.
Sylhet, powered by George Munsey’s fiery 58 off 28, posted 152/9 after a strong start. However, their middle and lower order failed to capitalize. Khulna’s bowlers, especially Abu Hider, Salman Irshad, and Hasan Mahmud, each picked up two wickets to restrict Sylhet.
Khulna’s chase was anchored by Miraz, who added a crucial 65-run opening stand with Naim Sheikh. Despite a late scare in the final over, Will Bosisto sealed the win with a six, finishing unbeaten on 19 off 11.
