India’s Champions Trophy Tickets Sell Out in No Time
The India-Pakistan match tickets were the first to sell out, while there was also massive demand for India’s clash against Bangladesh.
It’s no surprise that the India-Pakistan game saw overwhelming interest, but India’s matches against Bangladesh and New Zealand were also in high demand. In fact, all of India’s Champions Trophy matches were sold out in the blink of an eye.
Due to India’s uncertainty about traveling to Pakistan, the final tournament schedule was confirmed much later than usual. As a result, ticket sales were also delayed. However, it seemed fans were just waiting for the moment, as they rushed to grab tickets the instant they went on sale.
India will play all its matches at the Dubai International Stadium. Ticket sales officially began online at 4 PM Gulf Standard Time on Monday, with registered fans eagerly waiting in virtual queues. According to Hindustan Times, the India-Pakistan match tickets—scheduled for February 23—were the first to sell out.
Soon after, tickets for India’s matches against Bangladesh (February 20) and New Zealand (March 2) were also gone in no time.
Many fans, anticipating India’s progression to the semi-finals, bought tickets for the March 4 semi-final in Dubai, which also sold out rapidly.
Several fans were left disappointed as they waited online, hoping for their turn, only to find tickets sold out before they could purchase. The Dubai International Stadium has a capacity of 25,000, making ticket availability highly competitive.
Under this tournament’s hybrid model, India will play all their matches in Dubai, including one of the semi-finals. The rest of the games will be held in Pakistan. If India reaches the final, it will take place in Dubai; otherwise, the final will be held in Lahore.
Tickets for other key matches, including Pakistan vs. Bangladesh, Pakistan vs. New Zealand, and the semi-final in Lahore, were also quickly sold out.
The final is set for March 9, with ticket sales opening after the Dubai semi-final.
This year’s Champions Trophy will kick off on February 19 in Lahore with the Pakistan vs. New Zealand match.
