Does Rohit Sharma even wait for the toss result after the coin hits the ground? He might as well not—because by now, he already knows the outcome. You might wonder, how does Rohit predict the toss result in advance?

Well, it’s simple—this Indian team just doesn’t win tosses!

Against Bangladesh today, India lost yet another toss—their 11th consecutive defeat in ODIs. This unwanted record now ties them with the Netherlands for the most consecutive toss losses in ODI history.

And it’s not just Rohit Sharma who has been unlucky with the toss. KL Rahul, too, has led India in three of these matches, stepping in as captain during the ODI series against South Africa after the 2023 World Cup. Rohit, however, has been at the helm for the other eight.

India’s streak of toss losses began in the ODI World Cup final against Australia, where they suffered a heartbreaking six-wicket defeat. Since then, they’ve played ODI series against South Africa, Sri Lanka, and England—all while failing to win a single toss. Today’s Champions Trophy clash against Bangladesh marks the latest chapter in this bizarre streak.
