The match was originally scheduled to start at 3:00 PM Bangladesh time, with the toss set for 2:30 PM. With the game being called off, South Africa and Australia have taken a step closer to the semifinals. However, England and Afghanistan—the other two teams in Group B—still have a chance to qualify.

England vs Afghanistan: A Must-Win Match

Tomorrow, England and Afghanistan will face off in Karachi in a do-or-die encounter. The loser will be eliminated from the tournament, while the winner will still have a shot at the semifinals—if they also win their final group match.

In their opening matches, England lost to Australia, while Afghanistan was defeated by South Africa. Both teams remain pointless so far.

Qualification Scenarios for Group B

  • If Australia and South Africa win their final matches, they will qualify for the semifinals.
  • If both final matches are abandoned, Australia and South Africa will still qualify.
  • If Australia and South Africa lose, the winner of tomorrow’s England vs Afghanistan match can qualify by winning their last group game as well.

Current Standings in Group B

1️⃣ South Africa – 3 points (2 matches, better NRR)
2️⃣ Australia – 3 points (2 matches)
3️⃣ England – 0 points (1 match, better NRR)
4️⃣ Afghanistan – 0 points (1 match)

With three teams still in contention, the upcoming matches will be crucial in deciding the semifinalists.
