The Champions Trophy concluded on Sunday night with India securing their third title by defeating New Zealand in the final. Over the course of the 19-day tournament, many records were broken. Here’s a look at the key records set and the top five performers in batting and bowling:

  • India became the first team to win the Champions Trophy three times, surpassing Australia, who have won it twice.
  • A record 140 sixes were hit in the tournament, breaking the 113 sixes record from 2017.
  • The highest number of centuries in a single tournament was 14, surpassing the previous record of 10 centuries in both 2002 and 2017.
  • The two highest individual scores in Champions Trophy history were set this year. Ben Duckett of England scored 165 against Australia, breaking the 145-run record set by Nathan Astle of
  • New Zealand in 2004. Just four days later, Ibrahim Zadran from Afghanistan scored 177 against England.
  • David Miller set the record for the fastest century in Champions Trophy history, scoring 100 runs off 67 balls against New Zealand in the semi-final, breaking the previous record held by Virender Sehwag and Jos Inglis.
  • The highest-scoring matches in Champions Trophy history both occurred this year, with Australia vs. England totaling 707 runs and New Zealand vs. South Africa totaling 674 runs in the second semi-final.
  • For the first time, four bowlers took five wickets in a match during the tournament. The previous record was three such performances in 2004.
    Rohit Sharma set the record for the most consecutive toss losses in One Day Internationals, losing 12 tosses in a row, breaking Brian Lara’s previous record.
