During a run, Pakistan all-rounder Khushdil Shah found himself in trouble after shoving New Zealand pacer Zakary Foakes. The incident led to a breach of the ICC’s Code of Conduct, resulting in punishment for Khushdil.

In a statement on Monday, the International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed that Khushdil violated Level 2 of the ICC Code of Conduct. As a consequence, he was fined 50% of his match fee and given three demerit points.

The incident occurred on Sunday during the first T20I between the two teams in Christchurch. In the eighth over of Pakistan’s innings, Khushdil ran to take a run and accidentally collided with Foakes, pushing him with his left shoulder as he passed. After completing two runs, Khushdil was seen conversing with the umpire about the incident.

Khushdil accepted his mistake and agreed to the punishment, eliminating the need for an official hearing.

In the match, Khushdil was Pakistan’s top scorer with 32 runs. However, New Zealand’s brilliant bowling saw Pakistan bundled out for just 91 runs, with the Kiwis winning by 9 wickets with 59 balls to spare.
