Litton Kumar Das’s Pakistan Super League (PSL) stint has come to an abrupt end—just four days after it began. The stylish wicketkeeper-batter is heading back to Bangladesh after injuring his finger during a training session.

The news was confirmed by BCB’s chief physician, Dr. Debashis Chowdhury.

“We’ve been informed over the phone from Pakistan that Litton has a fracture on his thumb. So he’s returning home. That’s all we know for now. Once he’s back, we’ll run further tests,” said Dr. Chowdhury.

Later, Litton took to social media to share that his recovery could take around two weeks.

“I was very excited to play in the PSL for Karachi Kings. But perhaps the Almighty had different plans. I picked up a finger injury during training. A scan revealed a hairline fracture, and I’ll need at least two weeks to recover.”

“Very unfortunately, my PSL campaign is over before it even began. I’m returning to Bangladesh and ask for your prayers for a speedy recovery. Best wishes to my team, Karachi Kings.”

Litton had flown to Pakistan last Tuesday to join the PSL. But just four days in, he’s had to cut his journey short due to injury.

Even though Bangladesh have a Test series against Zimbabwe this month, the BCB had granted Litton full permission to participate in the PSL. The Sylhet Test squad was even announced without him. Now, due to the injury, he won’t be playing in either competition.

Meanwhile, young leg-spinner Rishad Hossain remains in Pakistan, representing Lahore Qalandars. Although he wasn’t picked for the opening match, he has received clearance for the full tournament.

Fast bowler Nahid Rana, on the other hand, has been granted permission to join the PSL after the first Test against Zimbabwe ends on April 26. He has been signed by Peshawar Zalmi.
