After four consecutive wins, Delhi Capitals captain Axar Patel is facing a fine following his first defeat of the season.

In the match against Mumbai Indians, Axar Patel’s disappointment from the loss was compounded by a financial penalty. The Delhi captain has been fined for a slow over rate in the match at Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday.

Due to the slow over rate, Axar has been fined 12 lakh rupees. This is his first offense of the season, so no further punishment has been imposed.

According to IPL Code of Conduct Rule 2.22, a fine of 12 lakh rupees is imposed for a first-time offense related to slow over rates. Axar was penalized in the fifth match of the season, and if the same mistake occurs in future matches, the fine will increase.

In the first innings, Mumbai posted 205 runs, thanks to a fifty from Tilak Varma and cameos from Ryan Rickelton, Suryakumar Yadav, and Namon Dheer. Despite a strong knock from Karun Nair, Delhi fell short by 12 runs and lost the match.

This was Delhi’s first loss of the season, and Axar’s fine came due to failing to complete the bowling innings in a timely manner.

Earlier in the season, Mumbai’s Hardik Pandya, Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Rajat Patidar, and Rajasthan Royals’ Riyan Parag and Sanju Samson had all been fined for similar offenses.
