Nahida Akter just three spots away from Career-Best Ranking in ODI bowlers’ list
Nahida Akter has reached the top ten in the ICC Women’s ODI Bowler Rankings, just three steps away from her career-best position. Her outstanding performance in the World Cup qualifiers with the ball earned her this reward. Meanwhile, Sharmin Akter and Ritu Moni have also made significant strides in the batter rankings.
The weekly update of women’s cricket rankings was released by the ICC on Tuesday. In the bowler rankings, Nahida is currently ranked 10th, just three places away from her career-highest position.
Sharmin has made a significant leap of 8 places, reaching her career-best 21st position in the batter rankings. Ritu, too, improved by 15 places, now sitting at 73rd.
In last Tuesday’s 34-run victory over Scotland, Nahida delivered a fantastic bowling performance, taking 4 wickets for 40 runs. She also claimed one wicket each in the matches against the West Indies and Pakistan, where Bangladesh suffered losses.
Thanks to this performance, Nahida moved up two spots in the rankings, earning a career-high rating of 618 points.
Rabeya Khan (22nd) improved by one spot, and Fahima Khatun (46th) moved up two places. Marufa Akter, the pace bowler, climbed 11 spots to reach her career-highest 49th position after taking 4 wickets in the last three matches.

Her stellar batting performances in the World Cup qualifiers earned her a spot in the best XI, and now she has made progress in the rankings as well. Among Bangladesh’s batters, Nigar Sultana, who dropped two spots, now sits at 19th.
Ritu, with scores of 12, 15, and 48 runs in those three matches, has made a significant leap. Marufa also moved up 6 spots to 85th.
