Mehedi Hasan Miraz has achieved his career-best rating points in the Test all-rounder rankings.

In the Chittagong Test against Zimbabwe, Miraz shone with both bat and ball, improving his ranking. With a century and five wickets in an innings, he has risen to his career-best No. 2 spot in the all-rounder rankings for this format.

The ICC released the weekly update of the men’s cricket rankings on Wednesday.

Miraz has moved up one spot among Test all-rounders, now with a career-high 327 rating points. He is 73 points behind Ravindra Jadeja of India, who is at the top with 400 points.

Even in the lost match in Sylhet, Miraz showed brilliant bowling, taking five wickets in both innings. Later, in the second and final Test, he led the team to victory with an all-round performance.

Coming in at No. 7, Miraz scored a magnificent 104, giving the team the lead, and then bowled Zimbabwe out with his off-spin, taking five wickets for just 32 runs. This made him only the third Bangladeshi cricketer to achieve the feat of scoring a century and taking five wickets in the same Test. Before him, Shakib Al Hasan (twice) and Sohag Gazi had achieved this.

With that century, Miraz also reached his career-best ranking in the Test batsman category, climbing 8 places to 55th. His previous highest ranking was 60th.

In Chittagong, Sadman Islam also stood out with the bat, scoring 120 runs and climbing 17 spots to 60th. Mominul Haque (47th) and Najmul Hossain Shanto (52nd) also moved up one spot each.

Zimbabwe’s experienced batsman, Sean Williams, who scored 67 in the first innings, advanced two places to 19th. His teammate, Ben Curran, who scored 20 runs, climbed 20 places to break into the top 100, now at joint 94th.

At the top of the Test batsman rankings remains Joe Root, while India’s Jasprit Bumrah continues to lead the bowlers’ list.

Miraz has moved up two places in the bowlers’ rankings, now at 24th. In the first innings of the Chittagong Test, Taijul Islam took six wickets for 60 runs. In the second innings, he claimed three wickets for 42 runs, moving up seven spots to 16th, the highest among Bangladeshi bowlers.

Nayeem Hasan, who took three wickets in the match, improved by six places, now at 54th.
