For the three-match series, Sri Lanka has brought in one new player along with the return of Dasun Shanaka, Dunith Wellalage, and Chamika Karunaratne.
Sri Lanka has made three changes from their last T20 squad, recalling all-rounders Dasun Shanaka, Dunith Wellalage, and Chamika Karunaratne for the series against Bangladesh. The 17-member squad also includes a new face — pacer Ishan Malinga.
Vanuka Rajapaksa, Chamindu Wickramasinghe, and Asitha Fernando have been dropped after the 2-1 series loss to New Zealand in January.
Former captain Shanaka returns to T20 cricket after nearly a year. His last appearance was in July last year against India.
All-rounder Karunaratne last played T20 for the country in April 2023.
Wellalage comes back after missing a series. The 22-year-old spin-bowling all-rounder made his T20 debut last year but has only played four matches so far.
Pacer Ishan Malinga receives his first T20 call-up. Having made his ODI debut earlier this year, his strong performances in the IPL and SA T20 leagues have earned him the chance to represent Sri Lanka in the 20-over format.
