All tickets for the Pakistan series will be sold online, but depending on availability, tickets can also be purchased in person on match days.
After the chaotic ticketing experience during the last BPL, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has decided to shift entirely to online ticket sales for the upcoming T20 series against Pakistan. Along with that, ticket prices have also been increased.
Tickets for all three T20 matches between Bangladesh and Pakistan must be purchased through BCB’s official ticketing website. However, depending on availability, some tickets may still be available at two booths outside the stadium on match days.
At a press conference held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Sunday, BCB officials announced the full ticketing details for the Pakistan series.
The three-match T20 series will take place at the same venue on July 20, 22, and 24. To watch the games in person, fans will have to pay a minimum of BDT 300.
Tickets will go on sale from Tuesday via BCB’s official ticketing platform: www.gobcbticket.com.bd
This will be Bangladesh’s first home T20 series since May last year. In the previous series against Zimbabwe, held in Chattogram and Dhaka, the lowest ticket price was BDT 200.
In the last edition of the BPL, fans could watch two league-phase matches per day for BDT 200. For the playoffs, ticket prices were raised to BDT 300.
Following that pattern, the lowest-priced ticket for this international series — for the East Gallery — is now BDT 300. Tickets for the Shaheed Abu Sayeed Stand and Northern Gallery will cost BDT 400, while Club House (Shaheed Jewel and Shaheed Mushtaq stands) tickets are set at BDT 800.
To watch from the International Gallery, fans will need to pay BDT 1,500. Grand Stand tickets are priced at BDT 2,500, and the most expensive seats — in the International Lounge — are priced at BDT 3,500.
Additionally, 100 free tickets will be given out in “Block 36,” a section of the Grand Stand, to individuals injured during the mass protests of July-August last year.
Before the most recent BPL season, BCB sold its ticketing rights to Madhumati Bank PLC for a 3-year period. Initially, BCB didn’t reveal the contract value, but at Sunday’s press conference, BCB Director Mahbub Anam confirmed that the deal was worth BDT 3 crore — BDT 1 crore per year.
During the BPL, tickets were available both online and at physical branches of Madhumati Bank. However, offline ticket sales didn’t perform well, and there were even incidents of vandalism at some booths.
Explaining the decision to go fully digital, Mahbub said:
“Excluding complimentary tickets, around 70% of the total stadium capacity will be released for public sale — all of it online. When tickets were distributed through bank branches, less than 20% were actually sold. So, this time we’re sticking to online sales only.”
However, he added that in-person sales will still be available to a limited extent:
“In the past, we’ve seen many people show up on match days looking for tickets. That’s why any unsold tickets will be made available at two booths outside the stadium. These tickets will be instantly printed via the online platform.”
Initially, there was uncertainty over the series’ broadcast, but that has now been resolved. All matches will be shown live on T Sports and Nagorik TV.
