Less than two months ago, Bangladesh toured Pakistan and suffered a clean sweep in the T20 series. Now, they have a chance to answer back on home soil.
The first match of the three-game T20 series will start at 6 PM on Sunday at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.
Historically, Bangladesh lags far behind Pakistan. Since 2016, they haven’t beaten Pakistan’s main team in T20 cricket. Their last win came at the 2023 Asian Games by 6 wickets — but none of the countries sent their full-strength squads to that event.
Including that victory, Bangladesh has won only 3 out of 22 matches against Pakistan. Pakistan has won 12 of the last 13 encounters.
Still, Bangladesh can draw confidence from their recent Sri Lanka tour. Despite losing the first match, they bounced back strongly to win the next two and clinched their first-ever T20 series against Sri Lanka. Riding on the momentum of that success, they now face Pakistan.
