No batter managed more than 31 runs, yet West Indies crossed the 200-run mark to set an unusual record—but for the second day in a row, Australia chased down a 200+ target to clinch a win.

Not even a single batter reached 35. Sherfane Rutherford’s 31 was the highest individual score, yet West Indies somehow reached 205. It’s the first time in international T20 cricket that a team has scored over 200 without any batter making more than 35. But on a flat pitch, small ground, and against a relentless Australian side, even that wasn’t enough. Chasing another 200-plus total, Australia sealed their fourth consecutive win and moved within reach of a series whitewash.

In the fourth T20I, Australia beat West Indies by 3 wickets to take a commanding 4–0 lead in the five-match series.

Despite what the scoreline suggests, the match was far from a nail-biter—Australia had things under control early on.

A day earlier, they had comfortably chased 215 thanks to Tim David’s explosive century. Even with David rested this time, there were no hiccups. All-rounder Aaron Hardie, coming into the XI, contributed with both bat and ball.

The match, which ended early Sunday morning (Bangladesh time) in St. Kitts, saw West Indies post 205/9. This was the first time in T20I history a team scored over 200 without a single batter scoring more than 35.

Australia completed the chase with four balls to spare.

While the West Indies innings was a perfect example of “many hands make light work,” the Aussies weren’t too far off. Despite not having a massive innings, they got two fifties—Josh Inglis scored 51 off 30, and Cameron Green remained unbeaten on 55 off 35, his third fifty in the series.

Glenn Maxwell, who had earlier taken two stunning catches, smashed 47 off just 18 balls with six sixes to earn the Player of the Match award.

It was Maxwell’s 47th Player of the Match honor in T20s, moving him past Kieron Pollard into second on the all-time list—behind only Chris Gayle (60).

This was the seventh time West Indies lost a T20I match after scoring over 200—the most by any team. They had already broken that record the previous day. South Africa is next on the list with five such losses.

Opting to bat first after losing the toss at Warner Park, West Indies signaled an aggressive intent. But like the previous match, their opening stand didn’t last long. Brandon King (18 off 10) hit three fours and a six in the first two overs before getting out.

Following King’s dismissal, Xavier Bartlett—playing his first match of the series—removed the previous match’s centurion Shai Hope (10), while Aaron Hardie got Roston Chase for a golden duck.

Despite losing three early wickets, West Indies kept attacking. Though they couldn’t build any big partnerships or innings, their run rate stayed brisk.

Rutherford scored 31 off 15, Rovman Powell made 28 off 22 with two fours and two sixes, Hetmyer added 16 off 6, Romario Shepherd 28 off 18, and Jason Holder 26 off 16.

Even at No. 9, Matthew Forde chipped in with 15 off 7 (two sixes), while Akeal Hosein scored 16 off 10.

That collective effort pushed West Indies past 200, but without a big innings or a solid partnership, they couldn’t stretch the total further.

Australia’s chase got off to a rough start, losing skipper Mitchell Marsh (0) to Jayden Seales on the second ball.

Josh Inglis responded with a flurry, hitting three boundaries in that same over. He followed it with four consecutive boundaries off Shepherd and then a six and four off Forde.

Inglis reached his fifty in 28 balls. At that point, Maxwell was still on just 2 off 4.

Maxwell got going with a six off Holder on the final ball of the Powerplay. Inglis departed shortly after reaching fifty, ending a 66-run partnership off 35 balls.

Then came a whirlwind 63-run stand between Maxwell and Green in just four overs. Maxwell fell trying to reach his fifty with a six, dismissed in the 11th over.

Soon after, Australia lost three wickets for five runs—Mitchell Owen (2), Cooper Connolly (0), and Maxwell—all in quick succession, with Blades picking up two in one over.

But Green and Hardie settled the nerves, adding 51 runs off 28 balls to take Australia close. Hardie fell for 23 off 16, while Bartlett chipped in with 9. Green stayed unbeaten to seal the win.

The final match of the series will also be in St. Kitts, on Tuesday at 5:00 AM Bangladesh time.
