Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur has made a significant leap in the ICC Women’s ODI batters ranking.
England skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt has returned to the top of the rankings after a brilliant knock in the third ODI against India, overtaking Smriti Mandhana.
The ICC, the global governing body for cricket, released its latest weekly rankings update for women’s cricket on Tuesday, as usual.
Sciver-Brunt now sits at the top with 731 rating points, climbing two spots. Just three points behind is Smriti Mandhana, who has dropped to second. South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt has slipped to third, also trailing Mandhana by three points.
This marks the third time in her career that Sciver-Brunt has reached the No. 1 position. She previously held the top spot from July 2023 to April 2024, and again from June to December 2024.
The 32-year-old all-rounder played a stunning knock of 98 off 105 balls in the third ODI against India last week, though England lost the match by 13 runs and the series 2–1.
Harmanpreet Kaur, who led India to victory with a century in that game, has made a big jump in the rankings. The Indian skipper has moved up 10 spots to sit at No. 11.
In the women’s ODI bowling and all-rounder rankings, England’s left-arm spinner Sophie Ecclestone and Australia’s Ashleigh Gardner continue to hold their No. 1 spots.
