Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shreyas Iyer have both missed out on a place in India’s 15-member squad.
After a long gap, Shubman Gill has returned to the T20 setup, with India including him in their Asia Cup squad. The Test captain will serve as the team’s vice-captain for the tournament.
India announced their 15-man squad on Tuesday for the battle to be crowned Asia’s best. Led by Suryakumar Yadav, the squad notably excludes top-order batter Yashasvi Jaiswal and middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer.
Jaiswal has been named among the reserves, along with Prasidh Krishna, Washington Sundar, Riyan Parag, and Dhruv Jurel.
