Making their international debuts are Jack Edwards and Mahli Beardman. Edwards, the all-rounder from New South Wales, has been included in the squad for the final ODI against India, while Beardman, the pacer from Western Australia, has been named in the T20 squad.

Glenn Maxwell suffered a finger injury during net bowling ahead of last month’s T20 series against New Zealand, ruling him out of Australia’s first two T20s against India. The seasoned all-rounder is expected to return for the last three matches of the five-match series.

Edwards impressed recently while playing for Australia ‘A’ on the India tour. He scored 88 runs in a first-class match and took 4 wickets for 56 runs in a List-A game. In another 50-over match, he scored 89 runs.

So far, the 25-year-old Edwards has played 35 List-A matches, scoring 882 runs with 2 centuries and 5 fifties. In 43 first-class matches, he has accumulated 1,947 runs, including 3 centuries and 5 fifties.

The other new face, 20-year-old Beardman, has played two recognized T20 matches, taking three wickets. He has also picked up 12 wickets in 5 List-A games. Beardman was part of Australia’s U19 World Cup-winning team last year and was named player of the final, taking 3 wickets for 15 runs.

Next month brings the Ashes series. To participate in the Sheffield Shield first-class tournament, Australia has released Marnus Labuschagne from the ODI squad, requiring the experienced batsman to leave without playing a match.

Josh Hazlewood and Sean Abbott will miss the final matches of the T20 series to play in the Sheffield Shield. Hazlewood will feature in the first two T20s, while Abbott will be available for the first three.

Australia has recalled Matthew Kuhnemann and Josh Philippe for the first ODI. Both missed the second ODI and Josh Inglis has not yet fully recovered from a muscle injury.

Australia secured the ODI series by winning the first two matches. The third ODI will be played in Sydney on Saturday, while the five T20 matches are scheduled for October 29, 31, and November 2, 6, and 8.
