Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi has officially announced the dates for the start of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Once again, India and Pakistan’s flagship franchise tournaments — the IPL and PSL — will be held at the same time. The global cricket community is set to witness this overlap for the second consecutive year.
The curtain on the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League will rise on March 26, 2026, with the tournament running for more than a month and concluding on May 3. The opening and closing dates were confirmed on Monday by PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi.
The PSL players’ draft will take place on January 8 in Islamabad. With the addition of two new franchises, next year’s PSL will feature eight teams.
Meanwhile, the 2026 Indian Premier League is expected to begin on March 17, with the nearly two-and-a-half-month tournament likely ending on May 31. The IPL auction will be held in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.
The previous edition of the IPL began on March 22, while the 10th season of the PSL started 20 days later, running from April 11 to May 25. During that period, matches were temporarily suspended due to military tensions between India and Pakistan.
The PSL will get underway just 17 days after the conclusion of the ICC T20 World Cup, which is scheduled to start on February 7 and finish on March 8.
