India captain Suriyakumar Yadav has climbed five spots among T20 batsmen.
His back-to-back fifties against New Zealand have left a mark on the rankings, bringing the former top-ranked India captain back into the top ten of T20 batsmen. Among bowlers, Afghanistan’s spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman has also advanced five places.
The ICC released the weekly update of men’s rankings on Wednesday, placing Suriyakumar seventh among T20 batsmen after his rise of five spots.
His two teammates, Ishan Kishan and Tilak Varma, occupy the top three positions, with Avesh Khan leading with 929 rating points and Tilak at 781.
In the three-match series against New Zealand, Suriyakumar scored 32, 82* and 57*, helping India secure a five-match series win with three victories.
Ishan Kishan returned to the rankings at 64th after his 76 off 32 balls in the second T20 at Raipur. His teammates Shivam Dubey (up nine places to 58th) and Rinku Singh (up 13 places to 68th) also improved.
Afghanistan’s Ibrahim Zadran and Rahmanullah Gurbaz performed well against the West Indies. South Africa’s Aiden Markram climbed nine spots to 20th after an unbeaten 86 off 47 balls in the first T20 versus the Caribbean side.
West Indies’ Brandon King and New Zealand’s Glenn Phillips also recorded notable jumps.
Among T20 bowlers, India’s Varun Chakravarthy remains at the top. Mujeeb, who took four wickets for 21 runs in the second T20 against the West Indies, has moved up five spots to ninth.
India’s Jasprit Bumrah has climbed four places to 13th, while spinner Ravi Bishnoi jumped 23 spots to 19th. South Africa’s pacer Corbin Bosch advanced eight places to a career-best 32nd.
Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza tops the T20 all-rounder rankings.
Performances in the England–Sri Lanka ODI series were also factored into this week’s update. Harry Brook, who scored 184 runs including a century in the third match of the 2–1 series win, has climbed 17 spots to 11th among ODI batsmen.
Joe Root, with two fifties followed by a century, moved up six places to 17th, while teammate Ben Duckett advanced five spots to 35th.
New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell remains the top ODI batsman, and Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan continues to lead the bowlers’ list.
England leg-spinner Adil Rashid, who took seven wickets against Sri Lanka, moved up six spots to fifth, while Sri Lanka spinner Dunith Wellalage climbed 14 spots to 29th.
Afghanistan’s Azmatullah Omarzai retains the top spot among ODI all-rounders.
