Mohamed Salah, the Egyptian star forward, feels like he may have already played his final match for Liverpool at Anfield against Manchester City.

A few days ago, Salah had expressed uncertainty about his future at Liverpool, saying, “It’s more likely that I’ll leave than stay.” After Liverpool’s impressive 2-0 victory over Manchester City, the Egyptian forward spoke with a hint of regret, suggesting that this could be his last match for Liverpool at Anfield against City.

In the Premier League match on Sunday, Liverpool defeated reigning champions City 2-0 at home. Salah was involved in both goals: his pass set up Cody Gakpo’s first goal, and later, he scored the second from a penalty.

Salah has been in excellent form this season, continuing to deliver outstanding performances for Liverpool. He is currently the club’s top scorer with 13 goals across all competitions. However, his contract with Liverpool expires at the end of the 2024-25 season, and the club has yet to offer him a new deal, leaving Salah disappointed.

When asked again about his future at Liverpool after the City match, the 32-year-old forward opened up about his thoughts on Sky Sports.

“To be honest, it’s on my mind,” Salah said. “Given the situation, this might be my last match for Liverpool against City at Anfield. The atmosphere was incredible, so I’ll enjoy every second here. I hope we win the league, and then we’ll see what happens.”

Since joining Liverpool in 2017, Salah has become one of the club’s most important members, scoring 224 goals in 369 appearances across all competitions. He has won several major titles, including the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, and the Club World Cup.

Throughout his journey, Salah has truly embraced the club, often expressing his love for playing at Liverpool. “Playing here is very special,” he said. “I don’t take this achievement lightly. I enjoy every minute of it. I feel comfortable here.”

“Scoring goals and winning at Anfield is always a special feeling.”
