Germany’s experienced forward believes that Bayern Munich could have scored even more goals against Shakhtar Donetsk.

While leading, Bayern Munich’s Thomas Müller urged his teammates to keep pushing for more goals. The experienced German forward felt they could have won by a greater margin against Shakhtar Donetsk.

In Tuesday night’s Champions League match, Bayern won 5-1, with Müller scoring his first goal in three months to give his team a 2-1 lead before halftime.

The forward, who joined Bayern at the age of 10, found the back of the net for the 16th time in Europe’s premier competition. Despite the win, the 35-year-old Müller was not entirely satisfied with the performance.

“We are satisfied… we took the lead and created many chances with our attacking play. The way we scored our second goal, we could have scored many more,” Müller said.

“It’s important that we keep progressing. After going 3-1 up, we shouldn’t take the victory for granted, so we need to keep attacking. Attack-minded players and playmakers want to keep scoring. That should be our top priority.”

With their third consecutive win, Bayern remains in eighth place with 12 points. The team is also at the top of the Bundesliga. On Saturday, they will face Mainz as they continue their pursuit of the domestic title.
