In a thrilling five-goal contest, Barcelona continued their unbeaten streak against Borussia Dortmund with a 3-2 victory. The match was a nail-biter, filled with attacks and counterattacks. After a goalless first half, five goals were scored in the second. Despite twice coming back to level the score, Dortmund couldn’t hold on as Ferran Torres’ brilliance secured Barcelona’s spot as second in the Champions League table.

In the intense showdown at Dortmund’s home ground on Wednesday night, Hansi Flick’s side emerged victorious.

Raphinha put Barcelona ahead early in the second half, but Serhou Guirassy equalized from the penalty spot. Just four minutes after coming off the bench, Ferran restored Barcelona’s lead. Guirassy struck again to level the game, but Ferran had the final say, scoring the decisive goal with five minutes left on the clock. The 24-year-old Spaniard netted both his goals within a 10-minute span.

With this win, Barcelona now have 15 points from six matches, trailing leaders Liverpool with 18 points. Dortmund, last season’s runners-up, slid to ninth with 12 points.

Barcelona’s dominance over Dortmund in European competitions remains intact. In five meetings, the Spanish side have won three and drawn two.

Barcelona started the game strongly, creating a golden opportunity in the 14th minute. Lamine Yamal delivered a brilliant pass to Raphinha, who failed to find the target in a one-on-one situation.

Dortmund’s Marcel Sabitzer squandered a great chance in the 17th minute, sending his shot over the bar. Three minutes later, Yamal’s low drive was expertly saved by goalkeeper Gregor Kobel, who also denied efforts from Jules Kounde in the 36th minute.

In the 40th minute, Barcelona goalkeeper Iñaki Peña pulled off a fantastic save to deny Guirassy’s close-range header, which was later flagged offside.

Barcelona broke the deadlock in the 52nd minute when Raphinha latched onto Dani Olmo’s through ball and found the net with a superb finish. This was the Brazilian forward’s 17th goal in 23 appearances across all competitions this season.

However, Barcelona’s lead lasted only six minutes. Pau Cubarsi’s foul on Guirassy in the box led to a penalty, which the striker calmly converted to level the score.

Barcelona coach Flick brought on Ferran Torres, Frenkie de Jong, and Fermín López, a move that paid off immediately. In the 75th minute, Kounde’s cut-back from the byline set up Ferrán, who capitalized on the rebound after Kobel blocked Fermín’s initial volley.

Dortmund equalized again just three minutes later, capitalizing on a misplaced pass from Barcelona. Guirassy received the ball and slotted it into an empty net after Peña failed to intercept the attack.

In the 85th minute, Barcelona launched a swift counterattack. Fermín López found Yamal, who delivered a pinpoint pass to Ferran. The Spaniard fired home with a powerful shot, securing the win.

Dortmund came close to leveling in the dying moments, but Nico Schlotterbeck’s header missed the target.

In another match, Arsenal secured a 3-0 home victory against Monaco, climbing to third with 13 points, just behind Barcelona.
