Even though things haven’t been going well on the pitch, Manchester City has received good news from their financial reports. In the most recent fiscal year, the English club earned a record £715 million, which is over 10,799 crore Bangladeshi taka. This sets a new record for the English Premier League, breaking their own previous record. In the fiscal year ending June 2023, City had earned £712.8 million.

Manchester City achieved this financial milestone in a year where they won their fourth consecutive Premier League title. They also secured the FIFA Club World Cup and the UEFA Super Cup. However, their Champions League campaign ended in the semifinals. According to a BBC report, Manchester City earned £2.2 million more this season than in their treble-winning 2022-23 campaign. A key factor behind this growth was a £13 million reduction in salary expenses. Alongside cost savings, commercial revenue also increased by £3.3 million. Last year, City spent £412.6 million on salaries and generated £341.4 million from commercial ventures.

Excluding the COVID-hit 2019-20 season, Manchester City has seen continuous financial growth since 2014-15. During this period, they have won six Premier League titles, five League Cups, two FA Cups, and three Community Shields in domestic competitions. Under Pep Guardiola, they have also claimed the Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, and UEFA Super Cup once each.

City reported earning £92.8 million from player transfers in the 2023-24 fiscal year, which ended on June 30. This includes revenue from selling players such as Argentine forward Julián Álvarez, defender João Cancelo, and striker Liam Delap.

Thanks to this financial success, City will be in a stronger position to buy players in the upcoming January transfer window. This could prove crucial for Guardiola, as the team is currently going through a rough patch. Out of their last 10 matches in all competitions, City has failed to win nine. The four-time consecutive Premier League champions are currently fourth in the league table and rank 22nd out of 36 teams in the Champions League standings.
