French forward Kylian Mbappé is now at his peak, believes Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti.

Ancelotti had repeatedly emphasized the need to give Mbappé time to adjust to his new environment at Real Madrid. According to the Italian coach, that adjustment period is now over, and the French star has reached his best form.

Last Wednesday, Mbappé scored the opener in Real Madrid’s 3-0 victory over Mexico’s Club Pachuca in the FIFA Intercontinental Cup final. Since joining Real Madrid last summer after his contract with PSG expired, the 26-year-old forward has scored 13 goals in 23 matches across all competitions, helping his team win two trophies this season: the UEFA Super Cup in August and the Intercontinental Cup.

Real Madrid will face Sevilla in their final match of the year in La Liga this Sunday. The game will kick off at 9:15 PM Bangladesh time at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Ancelotti shared his thoughts on Mbappé’s recent performances:
“The adjustment period for Mbappé is over. He’s now at his best, though he can still improve. He has played well in recent matches, recovered from his injury, and looks more motivated and excited than ever. Like everyone, he needed time, but that phase is behind him now.”

Mbappé’s improvement is evident in his statistics. He has scored five goals in Real Madrid’s last seven matches. After a hamstring injury during the Champions League match against Atalanta, the World Cup winner has made a swift recovery.

In La Liga, Real Madrid currently sits third with 37 points from 17 matches. Atlético Madrid holds second place with 38 points from the same number of games, while Barcelona tops the table with 38 points and a superior goal difference, having played one more match. On Saturday, Barcelona will face Atlético Madrid in a key clash.
