Sean Dyche’s two-year tenure as Everton’s head coach has come to an abrupt end.

Just three hours before their FA Cup third-round clash, Everton dropped a bombshell, announcing Dyche’s dismissal from his role as head coach.

The Premier League side is set to face Peterborough United at Goodison Park on Thursday at 7:45 PM local time. Earlier that afternoon, around 4:30 PM, the club confirmed that 53-year-old Dyche, along with four members of his coaching staff, had been relieved of their duties.

Everton has struggled significantly this Premier League season, managing only three wins in their first 19 matches. With just 17 points, they currently sit in 16th place on the table.

Dyche was appointed as Everton’s head coach in January 2023. During his tenure, the team played 84 matches, winning 26, drawing 26, and losing 32.

Last Saturday’s 1-0 defeat against Bournemouth in the Premier League turned out to be Dyche’s final match in charge of the club.
